Presentation Competition Held by Aranyakam Nature Foundation
Celebrating Wildlife Week, An online Presentation Competition was held by Aranyakam Nature Foundation on the Conservation of wildlife outside protected areas – Wildlife Sanctuaries and National Parks, for undergraduate and post-graduate students from the colleges in Kerala. Over 150 participants responded and selected 12 Presentations based on the merit for the final online presentation before the jury. On the presentation day, a Jury of experts Comprising Dr. PS Easa, Chairman of Aranyakam Nature Foundation & Former Director KFRI, Dr. Ajith Kumar, Former Director NCBS Wildlife Course, James Zacharias, Former Deputy Conservator of Forests, Shilpa V Kumar IFS, Deputy Conservator of Forests evaluated the live presentations.
Lulu Mujeeb Rahman, BSc Botany Graduate from Devagiri College, Kozhikkode, presented on conservation of wetlands based on Mavoor wetlands was awarded the first prize. Saranya a BSc Botany Graduate from SD College Alappuzha gained second place for her presentation on conservation strategies forWildlife in Alappuzha, followed by Christina Jacob, An MSc Zoology Graduate from Dr. Gafoor Memorial MES College Mampad gaining 3rd place for her presentation on the conservation of wildlife outside protected areas in Nilambur.
