Social and economic variables of a society determine its attitude towards conservation. Understanding these variables help to guide the awareness programmes in the society and thus, it ensures the building of a knowledgeable society that understands and follows the conservation measures. This webinar is intended to help to understand these socio-economic aspects of conservation. Dr Jeena Srinivasan, a Fulbright scholar, obtained her PhD in Economics from the University of Mysore and is currently Associate Professor at the Centre for Economic and Social Studies, Hyderabad. She has numerous publications to her name and some of her research interests are ‘Sustainability of agriculture in small farms’ and ‘Natural resources economics and management focusing on land and water resources, wetlands and fisheries’.
