Into the Life of Gentle Giants

The majestic gentle giants, the largest land mammal, and Animal. A very intelligent species that had been nearly threatened to the brink of extinction because of human greed and selfishness. Widely poached for their tusks throughout the globe. Thanks to all conservationists, scientists, and the government who helped in protecting them. They are slowly gaining back, even though still challenged by humankind for their right of survival, habitat, and safe passage. There is a lot more to know about this gentle giant.

The speaker:

Dr. PS Easa, Former Director – Kerala Forest Research Institute – Peechi,. A Veteran in the Field of Wild Life and Conservation with over 35 years of Research and Experience in the field. Has specific contributions in the conservation of Elephants and Man animal conflicts. He is very active on environmental education as well as policy-making, as a member of various decision-making bodies, Member of State Wildlife Board Govt of Kerala and Govt of Chattisgarh, Ministry of Environment and Forests, Govt of India. He also serves on the Project Elephant steering committee. Dr Easa has also widely published in the field of wildlife and conservation. He has edited an illustrated series on the biodiversity of Kerala featuring various taxa of the biological spectrum in the region. He has to his credit 42 research reports 41 research papers and 10 Books.
